course 2/fm

So I took my SOA/CAS course 2/FM (its the second actuary exam, those exams that most people freak out about when I talk about them). I think it went pretty well on the whole. The downside to it is that results do not come out till January 6th, 2006, so I wouldn't have official results till then. When I do get results, it means to start studying for the third exam though, so for now I'm enjoying the 2 months of not having to study. I took the exam at a company named NCCI which is an acronym for National Council on Compensation Insurance. It seems like a really great place to work and they had a job opening on their website, so I went ahead and applied for it, I'm just waiting to hear from them now :)

Mom and I went to this new place that opened up thats named Whole Foods Market, and for some reason we both thought it was a regular supermarket. Well it wasn't, it was a place that sold mostly organic foods. So we didn't quite get everything we needed so we'll be making a trip to the regular supermarket.

I also had some fiasco fun with my car. I took it to the Subaru dealer in Delray. First they tell me that my brake pads have 3mm left on them and that I need to fix that, well I didn't have time then to do it, so I told them I'd come back, this was in the beginning of October. Between studying for the exam, and the hurricane, I didn't get around to it till after my exam. Well I called them up last week, to make an appointment to get my brakes fixed, and to tell them my car was leaking oil. Well they tell me their ONLY subaru tech doesn't work with them anymore because his house got blown away and he moved back to where he was from previously. So I looked at the Subaru dealers online, found the one with the stellar star for performance and drove the 90 miles there. Turns out that my brake pads are perfectly fine, they have over half the pad left and that the Delray Subaru folks put the WRONG oil filter on my car which is why it started to leak. So I ended up getting an oil change early. The dealer there is strictly subaru, so I guess every few months, I'll be driving up there to have my car looked at :)
